Olas Mochica Necklace

A one-of-a-kind statement necklace featuring an oval pendant hand-carved from gray quarry stone. Flowing wave motifs inspired by Peru’s ancient Mochica tradition are engraved across the stone and finished with genuine gold leaf, creating a luminous contrast against its natural texture.

Multiple strands of black cord are individually secured with warm brass accents, giving the necklace movement, dimension, and a dramatic sculptural presence. Bold and rich in symbolism, Olas Mochica brings ancestral imagery into a contemporary piece of wearable art.

One of a Kind
Only one Olas Mochica Necklace exists. The pendant is carved, engraved, and finished entirely by hand and will not be reproduced. Variations in the stone’s color, markings, and texture are part of its natural character.

Materials
Gray quarry stone, genuine gold leaf, multiple strands of black cord, and brass accents.

Size and Fit
The pendant measures approximately 4.25 inches wide × 2.75 inches high. The necklace measures approximately 13.5 inches from the top of the cord to the bottom of the pendant when laid flat.

The cord has an open, untied design, allowing it to be wrapped, tied, and styled according to the wearer’s preference.

Artist
Ruperto Millones
Chiclayo, Peru

Ruperto Millones is a stone-carving artist who transforms locally sourced stone through carving, chiseling, engraving, and polishing. Inspired by the cultural heritage and iconography of northern Peru, his work brings together tradition and innovation while helping preserve the artistic legacy of his region.

Olas Mochica was individually carved, engraved, and finished with gold leaf by Ruperto in his workshop in Chiclayo, Peru.

Care
Handle gently and store separately to protect the stone and delicate gold-leaf finish. Wipe only with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, perfumes, lotions, oils, harsh cleaning products, and prolonged exposure to moisture. Do not rub or polish the gold-leaf details.

Ruperto works with the stone’s natural color and texture, allowing its organic character to remain central to the design. The engraved waves and luminous gold leaf bring movement across its surface, transforming the pendant into a singular expression of water, heritage, and continuity.
